Digital Artists Conference

iAMDA (International Association of Mobile Digital Artists) will hold its first annual MobileArtCon at NYU ITP at the Tisch School of the Arts, October 23-24, 2010. The conference will bring together visual artists, designers, musicians and app developers from around the world to discuss art and music created on handheld touchscreen devices (iPhones/iPads, etc) from a creative, technical and historical perspective. The free event features artist presentations, app demonstrations, and forums by app developers.

Fun Photo Decoration

Pimpy could be just about the most fun new photo decoration app for iPhone and iPod touch. Pimpy is the latest application for photo decoration and it is the only one that gives access to your Facebook photos and to the photos of your friends.

Underplot Apps, the authors of this app, added the possibility for logging into your Facebook account, browsing all of your friends and their albums. It is possible to search by name and adding friends to your favourites. Besides the easy access to all of your friends, you can also use your iPhone camera.

 

GMX - PhotoPainter

Gertrudis Graphics has released its new GMX-PhotoPainter for Mac OS X. GMX-PhotoPainter is a standalone software solution that transforms an image (generally a photo) into an original artwork. With GMX-PhotoPainter, artists can start with an existing picture such as from a digital camera or scanner, a 3D rendering or painting from another program or imaging application.
